President - Mei Sturdivant, RHIT, CPC-H, CCS, RMC
Mei graduated from
Tacoma
Community College’s program in 1998 and also earned her RHIT. Mei was hired and is still working as a HIM Coder at
Grays Harbor
Community
Hospital in
Aberdeen. Her coding experience is in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Mei is also an active member of the AAPC (currently President-Elect of Local Aberdeen Chapter), the ARHCP, and a course AHIMA. In addition, she’s earned her CPC-H (2003), CCS (2003), and RMC (2004). Mei is working towards getting accepted to
Dakota
State
University’s HIA program this fall. While preparing for Dakota State University Mei earned an AGS at
Grays Harbor
College in the beginning of 2007.
President Elect - Susan Ford, RHIT, CHP
Susan is employed by MultiCare Health System as a Quality Performance Coordinator. In this role, she abstracts clinical data for the acute care hospitals’ external reporting, and is a member of related quality improvement teams. She also has an extensive background in long-term care HIM, most recently at Tacoma Lutheran Home working as the Medical Records Supervisor and Privacy Officer. In June 2007, she completed a one-year term as WSHIMA Secretary. She is also a 2003 graduate of TCC’s HIT program.
Past President - Jonathan Eastabrooks, RHIT
Jonathan works as a Health Information Coder at MultiCare Health System. He works with Emergency Room and Outpatient Radiology reports. He graduated with high honors from Tacoma Community College in 2004 as an elected officer in Phi Theta Kappa and is currently a senior at the University of Washington's Health Informatics and Health Information Management program in Seattle.
Treasurer - Rose Griffin, RHIT
Rose graduated from
Tacoma
Community College's Health Information Technology program in 2002. Rose joined the staff at
St. Joseph
Medical
Center and currently works as the supervisor of coding.
Secretary - Antoinette Shaw, RHIT
Antoinette is a RHIT with the WA Department of Corrections and graduated from Tacoma Community College in 2002. Prior to establishing her RHIT career, she spent thirteen years as a certified nursing assistant in long-term care. Antoinette currently specializes in public disclosures, release of information, and legal matters.
Membership Coordinator - Barbara Spurlock, RHIT
Barb works as an ROI specialist at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System as well as a part-time ED coder at St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma. She graduated from Tacoma Community College's Health Information Technology program in 2004.
Workshop Coordinator - Alicia Hadash, RHIT
Alicia works as a clinical data specialist at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System. She graduated from Tacoma Community College's Health Information Technology program in 2004.
